  • Uncertainty quantification

  • Data Assimilation

Current Activities

Mohamed is a research scientist working on developing and testing methods in data assimilation

Career Background

Mohamed has been member of DAE since starting at the Met Office in January 2014. Before joining the Met Office, Mohamed was a researcher at Centre National de la recherche scientifique based at Le Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique/Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris, France. With Olivier Talagrand he developed EnsVar, an ensemble variational method.  He also worked at Florida State University and his main areas of research during that time were sequential data assimilation, uncertainty quantification with emphasis on stochastic homogenization and information theory.
