Sunny spells and a few showers today. Rather cool.

Today:

It will be a dry and sunny start across southern Aberdeenshire, otherwise a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers. Still feeling rather cool with a northwesterly breeze, this strong at times for the Moray Coast and Buchan. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Showers will die out during the evening with winds also easing. A dry night with mainly clear skies and becoming cold with a touch of grass frost possible along Deeside. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

A cold start then a mainly dry day with long sunny spells. A few scattered showers will develop in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Breezy with some rain for a time on Saturday but feeling warmer. Brighter with scattered showers on Sunday. Dry start to Monday then outbreaks of rain spreading east.

Cloud and outbreaks of rain, perhaps heavy in places, are expected to affect some northern areas at the start of this period. Further south, it is likely to be dry with spells of sunshine. Temperatures will mainly be close to average for the time of year. Through the middle and latter part of next week high pressure will begin to become more dominant, with dry and at times sunny conditions spreading across the majority of the UK. Temperatures during the day will probably be above average in many areas, although some cold nights are also possible. This pattern will probably persist through the rest of this period, although by late September there is a chance that more unsettled conditions may begin to develop.

Typical Autumn weather will probably affect the UK with a mix of weather types during late September and early October. Periods of wet, unsettled weather will likely be broken up by some spells of more settled, drier weather. Overall, the wettest conditions will probably be in the west with the east drier. Temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above average.
