Rain clearing to the south of the region during the evening with skies gradually clearing behind. Becoming dry but increasingly breezy overnight. Feeling much cooler under skies clear. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday:

A bright start with plenty of sunshine, although feeling cool. Blustery showers breaking out by during the day, perhaps turning locally heavy at times. Skies largely clearing overnight. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cool with sunny spells and blustery showers on Thursday. Isolated rural frost possible Friday morning followed by a dry, sunny day with light winds. Dry with increasingly hazy sunshine Saturday.

Initially fine for most locations during this period the early part of this period, with a weak front bringing cloud and patchy rain across central parts of UK returning northwards through Sunday into Monday, and perhaps bringing rainfall to the northwest, which could be heavy for a time across the hills of Northwest Scotland. This pattern is then likely to persist, with many areas likely remaining mostly fine, and the greatest chance of cloud and rain being across the far west and more especially northwest. Temperatures during this period are likely to be on the warmer side of average, but with settled conditions warm days could be offset by a few chilly nights. Towards the end of this period there is a signal that the more settled conditions may cease.

The transition to more unsettled / changeable conditions (as per typical Autumn climatology) is likely to continue into this period. There are weak signals that the track of Atlantic low pressure systems may sit further south than is typical in the early Autumn, and lead to an increased chance of some impacts from rain and wind across the UK. Temperatures are signalled to remain either close to or slightly above average.
