North West England weather forecast

Headline:

Drier on Wednesday but still rather breezy at times.

This Evening and Tonight:

A few showers continuing this evening, these locally heavy at first. Turning mostly dry overnight with prolonged clear periods although the odd shower remains possible, mainly in Merseyside and Cheshire. Winds easing and tuning chilly with some frost in places. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Wednesday:

A generally dry, sunny albeit chilly start to the day. Some cloud bubbling up with a few light showers possible in places. Still a bit breezy, particularly in coastal areas. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Starting dry on Thursday, but some rain arriving through the afternoon. Drier on Friday with sunny intervals, these increasingly lengthy by Saturday. Some chilly nights, but feeling warmer by day.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

High pressure should ensure a fine and dry day for most of the UK on Sunday, and in any sunshine and light winds it should feel warm. Perhaps cloudier across some northern and eastern areas where the odd spot of rain or shower is possible, although these should be light. Into next week the high is likely to withdraw to the west a little, and this will open the door to cooler and less settled conditions, with some rain or showers mainly affecting the north and east, with the best chance of staying dry across western and southern parts. After a brief warmer interlude on Sunday temperatures are likely to trend back toward or a little below average,

Updated:

Around the turn of the month high pressure will probably remain close to the UK, with a good deal of dry weather continuing for many areas. As we move further into May signals are finely balanced between drier than average and wetter than average conditions. As such fairly typical conditions are likely, with some good spells of dry weather just about anywhere, but also some more unsettled, showery interludes. Temperatures are likely to trend toward the warm side of average.
