South West England weather forecast

Headline:

Mostly dry, sunny spells and turning warmer.

This Evening and Tonight:

It will be a fine end to the day, with some evening sunshine, especially in the east. However, turning cloudy and murky from the west, with some patchy drizzle at times, mainly on coasts and moorlands. Light winds and mild. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday:

A cloudy, murky start, but soon brightening up to leave a fine and dry day, with variable cloud and warm sunny spells for many. Feeling more humid too. Light winds. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Dry with warm sunny spells Monday. Turning more widely warm or very warm and humid Tuesday, and Wednesday with sunny spells and the chance of a shower.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Probably still warm across the south at first. However, there is quite a large amount of uncertainty in how long this warm, settled weather will persist over the UK and it is very likely that conditions will transition back closer to average towards the end of next week. This transition brings with it the risk of some showers or longer periods of rain which may already be affecting some parts on Thursday, and potentially some thunderstorms too, particularly in the west but with many areas at risk. these more unsettled conditions could last through to the end of next week. However, the remainder of the period is more likely to be settled, especially across southern areas with temperatures slightly above average.

Updated:

Signals for this period are fairly weak and thus, it's difficult to say if any one type of weather pattern will dominate. As such, typical conditions for the UK are most probable with a mixture of weather types. All areas can expected to see some spells of drier, sunnier weather, but there will also be showers or longer spells of rain at times. Currently the only signals, weak as they are, hint that rain and showers will tend to be more biased towards the north and west, with any more prolonged drier interludes favouring the south. Temperatures are slightly more likely than normal to be above average, than below.
