Today:

Mainly dry for much of the day with some sunshine and a few coastal showers. Cloud thickening in afternoon with some rain reaching Lochaber and Isles by evening, along with strengthening southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Rain will extend to the north and east of Highland this evening though remaining light and patchy there. Turning clearer overnight but with a few showers in the west. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday:

A bright mainly dry day with some sunny spells. There will be a scattering of showers, mainly in the northwest where it will be breezy. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

It will be a windy few days with a mixture of clear or sunny intervals and showers, these more frequent in the west.

Winds generally light to start, but possibility of stronger winds in the far northwest. More changeable and unsettled weather is likely to continue into the weekend with the wettest conditions in the northwest, drier in the southeast. There is a high chance that these unsettled conditions will spread further south with stronger winds becoming widespread. Confidence surrounding the timing and location of the most unsettled weather is low. Temperatures likely to be above average overall, perhaps very warm at times in the south, though some cool nights and chance of early fog.

A slowly evolving weather pattern is considered more likely through this period, though with a typical mix of settled and unsettled spells of weather. Settled, drier spells are more likely towards northern parts, whereas the south may possibly receive above average rainfall.
