Today:

Mainly dry this morning with some sunshine across western Aberdeenshire but extensive mist and low cloud elsewhere. Mainly cloudy this afternoon with a few showers breaking out. Light winds. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers will die away early tonight. It will then a dry overnight with clear periods and also turning colder during the night. Brisk northwest winds. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Monday:

A mainly dry and colder day with sunny spells. It will cloud over during the afternoon with rain spreading from west later in the evening. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Wet, windy Tuesday morning. Brighter with blustery showers and strong northwest winds Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday. Fewer showers Thursday but still quite windy. Feeling colder.

Initially cool with northerly winds providing showers along exposed northern, western and eastern coasts, but also a few inland at times too, although central and southern areas may stay fairly dry and sunny. Showers wintry on the mountain tops in Scotland. Towards the end of the week and into the weekend it will likely turn more widely drier for a time, especially in central and southern areas, with the greater chance of rain and blustery conditions in the north and northwest. A gradual recovery in temperature is also expected as winds become more westerly. By the following week, while confidence is low a trend towards more settled conditions is most likely, accompanied by warmer temperatures. That said, some rain or showers are still possible, especially in the south and/or northwest.

The focus for wetter weather overall is more likely to return to north and especially northwestern areas, whilst southern and eastern areas have a greater chance of being drier relative to earlier in the month. Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, though with greater potential for brief spells of warm weather in the south.
