Central, Tayside & Fife weather forecast

Headline:

Mainly dry and bright on Tuesday.

This Evening and Tonight:

Showers mostly dying out this evening with some longer clear spells developing tonight. Perhaps cloudier over the Angus and Perthshire Hills. Breezy at times around North Sea coasts. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Tuesday:

A bright start with some sunshine then clouding over for a time with some patchy rain. The sun returning later and becoming warm inland. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudier on Wednesday, patchy rain in east, brighter in west, haar later. Thursday.dry, mainly cloudy but perhaps sunnier in far west. More widely sunny on Friday, warmer.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

A fairly uncertain period through the bank holiday weekend with more likely a warm but cloudy period with bright spells, greatest in the north and showers more likely in the south. However there is also potential for a more unsettled spell to spread from the west with fresh winds and bands of rain mid-weekend, signals still unclear regards this. Into the new week all areas are likely to see a mixture of showery periods or spells of rain, though generally drier conditions expected. Overall, southern parts of the UK will probably be driest and sunniest with a north-westerly wind most likely bringing more changeable conditions across the north or northwest. Temperatures should remain close to or a little above normal for early May.

Updated:

In this period, the chances of unsettled weather are slightly less than usual in the far north but about the same as usual for the bulk of the UK. Therefore, some spells of wet weather are likely for all, but perhaps especially across southern/central areas while the driest conditions relative to normal are probably further north. The chance of below or above average temperatures is fairly balanced overall, but it is worth noting that average temperatures themselves rise by around 1C per week at this time of year.
