After a settled day for many on Saturday the weather is set to turn more unsettled with the potential for more National severe Weather Warnings by mid-week next week.

A band of rain will push into the northwest of the UK and a yellow rain warning in place for parts of Scotland from 1 pm Sunday to midnight, with the heaviest and most persistent is expected over higher ground areas of Scotland.

Deputy Chief Forecaster at the Met Office, Mark Sidaway said: “The start of next week will continue showery for many with strong winds in northwestern areas.

“There is the potential for a deep area of low pressure to bring further heavy rain and disruptive winds on Wednesday and Thursday but details on timings and the exact location of potential impacts remain uncertain at this far ahead.”

Keep track of current weather warnings on the weather warning page, when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather in your area.
