The first few days of this period sees a continuation of dry, settled conditions for many. Cloud will affect the northeast and eastern counties at times, perhaps moving inland overnight and burning back closer to the coast during the day. After locally chilly nights, temperatures mostly warm by day away from windward eastern coasts (perhaps very warm in sheltered western and northwestern areas). Winds mostly light, but perhaps moderate in the far south. Further ahead the largely dry, settled conditions are likely to continue as the risk of any thundery showers spreading into the southern UK now looks very low. Temperatures above average for many, remaining cooler near eastern coasts. Winds mostly light, strongest towards the south.
Updated:
A north/south split is possible as June progresses with northern areas having a better chance of continued dry conditions, whereas the south may be slightly wetter than average. Winds may also be stronger in the southern half of the country but remain light in northern regions. In general, the temperatures are likely to be above average; eastern coastal areas may feel slightly cooler, however, in the presence of onshore winds.
